Cool Where do I start? to create slide show thru code, varying time each pic is shown.


Complete and total newbie. Just need to be pointed towards which chapter in the tutorials and books. I'm reading about Cinelerra, Mencode and other things. I just want to make slideshows slightly more complex than what is offered on my Asus Eee. I'd like to do it thru writing code so I can change values (and watch some pictures appear longer or even repeat without having to store several duplicate pictures).
I'd like to work in jpg. but am willing to convert pics to another format.

No, look at ImageMagick. It's a suite which i think you can use for this. You'd have to man it to find out what the commands are.

When you say to make a slideshow, do you mean that you just want to display the images in your computer, or do you want to send a single file to someone else which contains a slideshow?
