where do I find installed programs???

hi

I'm running Fedora core 2, with the gnome x desktop.

I've just installed Firefox (I know it's working, it started up after the install was finished).

but where on my system do I find it? there's no icon on the desktop or in the "foot menu", and opening a bash and typing "firefox" just gets me an error...

help....

erm...afaik program install to /home/ by default....have you looked in there for Firefox folder? You might need to use the Super User File Manager to look for it, cos it may be hidden.....

I tried ls -a in my home dir, but it doesn't have anything to do with firefox

when I try whereis firefox I get this:
[joda@localhost joda]$ whereis firefox
firefox:

not too useful

ok, I got it now - note to self, pay more attention to installs.

I've found where it's installed to, and I've managed to make a launcher for firefox on my desktop.

now how do I set it so I can just type "firefox" in a shell, and it starts up?
