Where can I get RHEL5 x64 ISO?
I am new with Linux and want to start playing around with it. Where cn I get RHEL 5 x64 ISO?

But...... Redhat isn't a free product (although you can get a 30 day evaluation). Why not use CentOS, which is the same and is free: www.centos.org |

and why the old 5 series ? It is starting to show it's age . The current RHEL is 6.3 contact red hat sales http://www.redhat.com/contact/sales.html you will need to buy the required mandatory support contract https://www.redhat.com/apps/store/desktop/ if you are not going to buy the required mandatory support contract , then do not use RHEL instead install one of the free rebuilds like CentOS 5.9 ( the old 5 series) or CentOS 6.3 ( the current) http://centos.org/ |
Welcome to Linux questions!
If you're completely new, then start with one of the beginner-friendly distros. I suggest looking at Linux Mint and PCLinuxOS. They have live disks, so that you can try before you install, and they use very different user interfaces; that's a big difference to Windows — you can choose your GUI. Useful tips: Read the instructions before installing, especially the part about partitioning your hard drive. If you need more software, always get it from your distributor's repository. Don't put spaces in file or folder names. |
