From where can I get the Linux OS?
How to install Linux?
Can I install linux in my computer which is operated by Windows Vista OS?
Can I run Linux and any Windows OS on the same PC?
Means If I want to Use Windows I can use it, and If I want to use Linux, can i simply switch to linux without altering Windows OS?
1. http://iso.linuxquestions.org/
2. Go to the home page of your chosen distribution and read the instructions, or search for "how do I install <distro name>" there are lots of instructions out there. With many distros it's insert disk, follow the prompts, wait 20 minutes and reboot.
3. Yes - search for "dual boot linux vista"
4. Yes - it's called dual booting
5. Yes, but you will need to reboot to switch. Otherwise look at virtualisation - running one OS inside another.
You can download from the internet, get them from magazines at a news stand, buy cds from different stores on the internet. I suggest a live cd to start till you can become familiar with some of the terminology and the operations. They will operate from the cd without hd installation.
Most of distros have a default choices type installation to the hd and it will recognize windows and partition the drive for you automatically or give you the option of sizing it yourself.
Yes to the last question, if it is a live cd just shut linux down and remove cd when tray opens and it will reboot to windows. If you install it will give you a choice on reboot.
