Where are the good forums?

Alright,
As you can see, I'm in love with LQ. I think it rocks for so many reasons. For me, my addiction lies in the fact that people here know their S&*%!, but they don't mock us newbies for asking such "dumb" questions.

I try to do my part by adding whatever ridiculously little information I know to the community, and I try to be careful in avoiding any responses that would go beyond my knowledge. Anyway, I wanted to throw this thread out there for two reasons one.

1. To sing and praise LQ.org, because it has made me a true Linux user and lover.

2. To see if there are any other forums that are even slightly as useful as this one. I find that a lot of google searches point me to jargon that just baffles me. I don't mean to "advertise" other forums, but is there another forum out there that can even compete with the caliber of talent here (who kindly advise, and eventually recruit us newbies).

Looking for non linux forums? There are so many good forums out there, it kind of depends on the topic you are looking for.

As far as Linux forums go, you found the king of Linux forums. I have been a member of the others in the past, and have never looked back after finding LQ.
There is just none that can compare anymore..

Thumbs up

P.S. I promise to become a member as soon as I get back on my feet financially, because this forum saves my life so many times. I rely on Linux for both fun, and my work (I'm a PhD in Mathematical Statistics). You all rock, and you deserve a serious ovation.

How about some seroius praise for the big guys out there that point us in all the _right_ directions.
Sincerely,
A Newbie Linux Lover/Learner

I couldn't agree more Pcghost. This is the KING!!! I was only wondering if any other ones actually exist.

Just to clarify, I'm only referring to the Linux forums, especially the ones for people like me trying to learn on our own, but get stuck quite often.

I want to offer a Kudos to gurus like you (especially looking at your # of posts), thanks for helping me out!!! I'm already looking at the links in your signature so that I can bookmark them for future issues I may have.
