Where's the GUI???

I finally installed Suse 8.1. After the install was complete, it started booting, and I was brought to a login and password prompt. After I logged in, the screen blinked a few times, then I was at some sort of a c:\ like prompt. Wheres the desktop???? Do I have to enter a command to start it up?

if it didn't start automatically, then xfree wasn't setup properly. login as root and start sax2 to configure your monitor and vid card.
