Thanks for the response. The download Link on that site appears to be broken.
So no WUBI for 11.04 so far. At least, not here on LQ nor on ubuntu.com.
I will continue the search. :-)

It is on the Ubuntu site. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/windows-installer

As noted in the text:

Click the big orange button to download the latest version of Ubuntu. This Windows installer (Wubi) will help you to run Ubuntu within your current system.

OK I got it.
From this site Download of Ubuntu 11.05 64 bit does not contain WUBI
From this site, The 32 bit version does include WUBI.
Will play with the 32 bit version and track to see if the AMD version eventually includes wubi
Thanks for your help

Is there background on why it was omitted??
Is there a possibility that it will be added later?

Worked for me - wubi.exe downloaded o.k; 1.5 Meg.
Run it, and it will apparently pull the install files. No, I didn't try it out - not interested.

Read the doco, as indicated on the download page.

Don't be scared, set up a partition for ubuntu and actually install it. Runs a lot better than on wubi.

+1 download worked for me as well, and I didn't try it out either because I'm running Debian, I wouldn't even give it a go in WINE.

Well there is that Brand Loyalty thing.
"If it's not on LQ, there is probably something wrong with it." LOL

Seriously, I'm OK with the WUBI contained in the 32 bit version. I'm just playing around with it for now. I have a machine that I can fire up and load it on when the time comes.
