I've got a general question that's been bugging me for awhile...
Does anyone know what's the maximum number of users that can be created on Linux? Regardless of the various distributions. From what I know it's 65535, inclusive of system UIDs.
Did some googling around, since I got inrested in this, too.
from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_kernel
I understand that whit the 2.6 kernel, the maximum number of users/groups on a system Increased from 65,000 to over 4 billion
to that should mean 65.000 for 2.4 kernels, and 4 billion for 2.6 kernels
