What will happen if mv JPEG file operation is aborted in middle?

Hello Friends,

My question is what would happen if I abort

mv /source_dir/c.jpge /destination_dir

halfway?
1) Whether the file entry would be there at the destination location? 2) Would I be able to access it from source and destination?
3) Whether the metadata be updated?

Thanks in advance.

the drive read/write speed is VERY fast

you might want to read the manual;l page for mv
Code:
man mv

If src_dir and dest_dir are on the same filesystem, then that would be implemented as a simple rename. There wouldn't be a "halfway".

If they're not? Well, I don't know. Do you have a floppy disk and drive to experiment with?
