Welcome to LQ!
Don't you think that your question is slightly too general and that we need more info?

maybe it's the "Unlock Your Copy of Windows 8 for all spy- and malware attacks Now!" activation number.

I see, some of us are especially helpful to our new members today. What a warming welcome. I would like to remember those members to keep the LQ Rules in mind, one of them is:

@sweetpeaspapa61: Hello and welcome to LQ. To be able to help you with your question we need more information, as kooru an John already pointed out. For which product is that activation number?

Possibly, depends on the product and how it is activated. I remember for some Borland products that I had to copy a registration file to some obscure path, I guess there are a lot of products with similar complicated registration/activation procedures.

Tobi's sarcasm didn't seem to work on you; I'll spell it out more clearly:

If you don't have anything useful to contribute, please move along. Mockery and being
a wise-guy (smart-arse?) for the sake of your own entertainment is not appreciated.

Cheers,
Tink
