Did you call it index.html?

Did you check those directives I suggested?

what are the permissions on /var/www/html and the files within it - post the output of

ls -la /var/www/html

could u show me how to do that i know i have to edit text but i think i already did that with the how to forge webpage

ls -la /var/www/html is bad command or file name

Yes, but in that case you would enter ftp://123.234.345.456
