I get this at start up of each of my KDE sessions:::::::::


Sound server informational message:
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device /dev/dsp can't be opened (No such file or directory)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

Possibly you do not have the sound drivers loaded. You can list out your loaded modules with:

lsmod | less

What distro? Have you configured your soundcard?

Right now I run Debian... Why would I need to configure my sound card???? --- Everything else was configured already........ Steve, i assume you mean to run that in a terminal program???

You may want to listen to something and get rid of the error message.
