What Should Ubuntu Look Like At Shutdown and Hibernate?
I've had Ubuntu for about 3 days. The one time I put it on hibernate, it went to a black screen with white letters, and the last line said "power down." Then nothing happened. After about five minutes, I assumed that "power down" meant that it wanted me to turn off the power button, so I did.
Last night I clicked "shut down." The Ubuntu screen came up, the colored bar under the logo went down and was done (unloaded). And then it froze right there, with the Ubuntu logo still on my display. After ten minutes, I decided it was locked up, so I shut it down.
When I had XP, the computer would shut itself off. I never had to push the power button. Did my computer freeze on the wrong screens, or is this what a normal hibernate and shutdown look like?
