what should FireFox do with this file, open with VLC not there?


Fedora 11 and KDE)4.4.3) when in firefox clicking to down load/open a file i get "you have chosen to open" dialog i am presented with only "Dragon Player (default) i wish to use vlc, if i choose other i'm prompted with the entire file system, i assume that vlc is located in usr/share etc but which file do i choose to get the VLC option?
and
how do i remove a failed entry?

usually /usr/bin/vlc

In FFx go to Edit (Menu) -> Preferences -> Applications (tab) and look for the Content type that is appropriate (e.g. mpeg-4 video) and specify the application you wish to have open the file. If you want vlc it is typically found at /usr/bin/vlc

Thanks for the reply re location of vlc at /usr/bin/vlc --> fixed ok
but failed entry, to open FFx, this may sound dumb but what is FFx ?
