Ok, I didn't either, but did a search and found your only 2 posts, so I am assuming you are referring to the vmware problem. I'd have to say that alot of us don't use vmware in win, if at all. Your question didn't get overlooked, more than 10 people have viewed each of them. I don't know the answer, but David might, he's a guru x 2.

I'm sorry you are having problems with linux via vmware, and hope things get better.

chill out. I don't know your problem, but I just tell you this is a free forum, and since you are not paying for any service, people have the right to answer you question the way they want. If it's too stupid you'll just get a RTFM os STFW answer. If it's been asked you'll probably won't get any answer at all or, if you are very lucky, you'll get a link to the post. If you have read all the documentation and searched google, and you douldn't find the answer there, and here nobody knew how to help you. THEN you should consider changing your sftware to something better documented or more standard. (or with less bugs ;))

try reading the link in my thread below abuot asking good questions, it will help you alot, and maybe help you drop the undesirable attitude.

ok after all this i will make my problem more specific.I run as host a linux SuSE 7.1 and i download the latest version of vmware.The machine i have is a dualboot machine which has in the primary partition Windows XP Professional and Linux .I use most linux and i want to run the XP thing throuh linux since i use more often linux and windows only for some special things like running matlab.Anyway i read the .pdf tutorial from vmware on how to install a Dual boot machine which has ACPI (that stands for the power managment).To setup the vmware i did the following:
1)I create a second hardware profile and named VMware
2)Then to overcome the problem of ACPI :
expand D:\i386\hal.dl_ mpla mpla\vmhal.dll
expand Dmpla \vmntkrnl.exe
after that setup the boot.ini by adding a new boot configuration for using this dll and exe.
Then start the lihux host and open vmware . I create lunch the wizard and choose the raw disks since is a dual boot my machine .When i switch power on the machine and after passing the boot thing and the choice of the hardware profile the vm crushed by throughing out a window saying that the guest operating system (XP) shutdown the cpu, and in the vmware machine something like screwed up memory banks looked like.
I should say that i boot throug diskette using lilo and also for the vm boot using the same device.
Where is the problem?

clear? this isn't even in the right thread!!! you start a question in a brand new thread. you then add any additional information to THAT thread... :confused:

give him a break. he is just another newbvie that needs a good ammount of reading... the how-to ask good questions for a start... but in google you can find a lot of papers about how linux users (and hackers in genreal) are autosuficients.
