What plotting software should I use for Plotting ASCII data in Ubuntu?

Hi Every body,

I want to plot a two-column ASCII data. The first column is
X and the second one is Y.

What is the appropriate software in Ubuntu for doing
such a thing?

I would be very grateful for any help.

With best regsrds,
Hassan

Xgraph should usually be able to do that.

sudo apt-get install xgraph

..

Xgraph starts the GUI from a terminal /// command line :

The command for the xgraph-plot-example.txt is :

'xgraph xgraph-plot-example.txt'

I'd imagine Ubuntu also has a Gnuplot package and that's fairly easy to use.

I have good experience with DataScene on SuSE. The web site says it runs on all Linux OSes, though. It has a nice GUI and produces nice charts.

Sorry, I forgot to include the URL to DataScene:

It seems that the Express edition is free.
