What plotting software should I use for Plotting ASCII data in Ubuntu?
Hi Every body,
I want to plot a two-column ASCII data. The first column is X and the second one is Y. What is the appropriate software in Ubuntu for doing such a thing? I would be very grateful for any help. With best regsrds, Hassan |

Xgraph should usually be able to do that.
sudo apt-get install xgraph .. |
Thanks knudfl,
I downloaded the package but do not know how to plot the example using xgraph. Best regards, Hassan |
I can advise scidavis (part of Fedora distribution, and probably also ubuntu)
|
Xgraph starts the GUI from a terminal /// command line :
The command for the xgraph-plot-example.txt is : 'xgraph xgraph-plot-example.txt' |
I'd imagine Ubuntu also has a Gnuplot package and that's fairly easy to use.

I have good experience with DataScene on SuSE. The web site says it runs on all Linux OSes, though. It has a nice GUI and produces nice charts.

Sorry, I forgot to include the URL to DataScene:
http://www.cyber-wit.com It seems that the Express edition is free. |
