What is the meaning of 'linuxrc'?


hello everyone!
i am a newbie.
i don't understand the meaning of linuxrc.
i found there are many files or directories named with 'rc',such as 'rc.d','linuxrc' ,etc.
what is the meaning of 'rc'?

This is a very old convention that perhaps predates Unix.
It means "run command".

Bingo!! I was wondering the same myself. So rc.d is a directory full of "run commands" (Read as a compound noun--meaning "commands to be run <at bootup>"

some of us only understand rc as meaning remote control....

Google using "linuxrc"
On my system, it is buried in /usr/share/discover-----It seems to run another utility called "discover" which detects hardware. Then it it runs "modprobe" to install drivers.
