What is the difference between smtpd_client_restriction and smtpd_recipient_restricti

Dear friends,

I am studying a postfix configuration main.cf file. Many of the flags are not explained well in the config file itself so I dont'r eally know how to utilize it.

particularly the following:

smtpd_client_restrictions & smtpd_recipient_restrictions

What are the differences between the 2?

Does it mean smtpd_client_restrictions impose rules on the sender and smtpd_recipient_restrictions impose rules on the recipient of my domain?

so it means by imposing rules on smtpd_client_restrictions I can control or block any sender's address who try to send mail to my domains.
&
It also mean by imposing rules on smtpd_recipient_restrictions I can control who can receive mail?

there is also the Check_sender_access flag within smtpd_recipient_restrictions which I cannot quite understand....

I googled....but cannot find a site that explain how to use these flags..

if you know any helpful sites, please direct me to the site. thanks for taking time reading my mail,

Regards
Y

Lucky for you and I, Postfix is really good at using "as it sounds" configuration options. So, a client restriction would place a restriction on a mail client (for example, thunderbird) where a recipient is someone (or some service) on your actual machine.

Postfix is by far the easiest to work with, tweak, and understand mail server I've come across (for me, it may suck for everyone else ;) ). So good luck in your venture. postfix.org actually has quite a few links and readme's on it's site.

Cool
