what is startx fatal server error


AOA! plz give me the solution of the problem startx fatal server error ,when i try to load backtrack 3 in vmware after login and after giving startx command i find the problem fatal server error

That means that your X environment (the base of the graphical interface) is not configured correctly or lacks a driver. There is no generic solution to this problem.
As a first step I would recommend to use the recent Backtrack 5, Backtrack 3 is old and not supported anymore. It may happen that using a newer version will solve your problem.

I get that error when my drivers are not set up correctly.
