What is SIGSEGV?

I'm on the SuSE live eval and I tried to change the time format. It said that I'd need to logoff before the changes would take effect, so I did, but I got an error about SIGSEGV. I closed the box and the time is changed, but I never logged off or anything.

SIGSEGV is a standard program error message issued by the kernel. It means that the program named in the error box attempted to reference some memory that did not belong to it. So it is a minor bug in one of the programs that change the time for you. If it happens again and you are interested in fixing it then get the rest of the message.

Oh, ok. As long as it's nothing major, it's cool. I'll need stuff to tinker with once I get the hang of things.
