Can anyone tell me what is raid ? or good refrence site ...

RAID
 
Redundant Array of Inline Disks (or something like that). chances are, if you don't know what it is, you don't need it. striping(raid 0, i believe) your disks can help disk access times, the rest just seem to be for data protection.
