What is linux-4am5 login?

I recently purchased a HP2133 Mini Note Book which came with pre-installed SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 SP1. I am experiencing some teething problems. The system is asking for linux-4am5 login which I cannot find any info on anywhere. Can anyone please advise?

sounds to me like that is the hostname of the computer. and it is asking for you to login. Do you have a normal user account set up? If you do then type your user name and password. If not, try to login as root, if you know the password, then add a new user.

I agree that 'linux-4am5' rather sounds like the computers hostname on a factory-installed computer. If it looks like:
Quote:

linux-4am5 login:
then it's a login prompt, and you have to enter your own user name and on the next line your password. These values must be documented somewhere in the printed booklet that came with the computer. If no such info is available, then try 'root' as user name, and use an empty password. Not sure that it works, but worth a try.
