What is CUPS?
Sorry for the newbie question, but what is CUPS? Also, Linux loads, it fails at "Start service Eth0." Could that mean it can't find an internet connection (since I have a LAN card)? I have it disconnected at the moment (its in my laptop which I am using now to ask questions!!) Just wondering, since I am an ultra newbie and having problems!! Thanks for your help!!

Eth0 is your network card. Linux uses 0 as the first device (eth0, eth1, etc) and Windows starts at 1 (com1, com2, etc) so wherever you see a device with a 0 after it, it normally means it's the first.
CUPS is the print server program - it is probably looking out for configured and unconfigured printers. |
