What is a good Linux Book

I like to read and want to get a good feel of how to use Linux, I want to understand it more then I do I have a hard time learning the commands, and have to just do basic things.
Any good reads that will help someone figure it out?

I've found the Linux Bible series (John Wiley and Sons Ltd) to be a good starting point.

Is Linux for Dummies good?

njfife, as billymayday mentioned the Bible series are pretty good as starting point. What distribution are you running?
try this:

Good Luck

Hi,

Just a few links;
'Rute Tutorial & Exposition'
'Linux Documentation Project'
'LinuxSelfHelp'

These links and others can be found at 'Slackware-Links'. More than just SlackwareŽ links!

Is Linux for Dummies good?
probably not for anyone who has asked the first question: I get the impression that its more aimed at refugees from other OSs who just want to get things done using a GUI and not so much at people who want to understand and use the command line. OTOH, the 'for dummies' series tends to be well explained and do what they set out to do quite well, its just that it doesn't seem to be what you are asking about in your original post.

I could make a dozen suggestions, but is there any chance of being more specific? Do you want to learn Linux Admin, general Linux, linux scripting, server, networking, some combination, computers in general... each of those would get a different specific reccomendation.

In the meantime, there is plenty of stuff online; look at the linux documentation project, advanced bash scripting guide (there is a simpler bash tutorial too, I just don't remember the exact name), and you'll find in quite a few places a Linux/unix commands cheet sheet, which might be worth printing off. And don't forget 'man' and more specifically, 'man -k', or apropos.
