What is a good Linux Book
I like to read and want to get a good feel of how to use Linux, I want to understand it more then I do I have a hard time learning the commands, and have to just do basic things.
Any good reads that will help someone figure it out? |
I've found the Linux Bible series (John Wiley and Sons Ltd) to be a good starting point.

njfife, as billymayday mentioned the Bible series are pretty good as starting point. What distribution are you running?

I could make a dozen suggestions, but is there any chance of being more specific? Do you want to learn Linux Admin, general Linux, linux scripting, server, networking, some combination, computers in general... each of those would get a different specific reccomendation. In the meantime, there is plenty of stuff online; look at the linux documentation project, advanced bash scripting guide (there is a simpler bash tutorial too, I just don't remember the exact name), and you'll find in quite a few places a Linux/unix commands cheet sheet, which might be worth printing off. And don't forget 'man' and more specifically, 'man -k', or apropos. |
