what is a Filelist?


Ithink this is a very newbie question,but since is really freaking me out, lets do it.

When im trying to download a Debian package from the website, always appeare for example:

The file list is simply the list of files provided by the package. I guess you refer to http://packages.debian.org: to actually download the package you have to follow the links by clicking on the architecture field (see the attached image).

Why don't you use Debian's package management system (APT) to get the software you want? It'll take care of the dependencies for you.
