What happened...Suse always freezes

hey my laptop overheated and shut off and I'm running a vm with opensuse 11 and now when I start suse the whole desktop seems to freeze at the suse startup screen (while all my last used programs like firefox an such will pop up)and takes like 20 minutes to finally bring up the desktop and now beagle desktop search always freezes any ideas what could be the problem?

P.S the home and my computer folder also did the same thing untill I updated konqueror I've tried the same thing with beagle with no success

Did you check you're logs ?
Can you find error messages ?

yeah I've checked the boot log and there's nothing in there and that I assume would be the one that I want right?

I've also checked the boot.msg and the only error messages I get are the following...
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2473/status
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2473/status
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2473/status
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2473/status
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2473/status
Log: Util_GetProcessName: Error: cannot open /proc/2460/status

also it seems like kde kicker likes to crash and not restart (or if it does it takes a very long time) where is that log located?

alright it seems to be happening again..(though this time suse isn't being run on a vm it's actually installed on my acer 5610 laptop) it seems to be right after I installed all the xorg repos..but I check the logs and everything seems to be fine the only thing that fails is ipblock so I'm very puzzled on this one...my panel like to crash and then freeze with just the gray panel outline visable and take like (literally) 20 minutes to start up again.also another odd thing with the freeze up's when I go to start up the "file manager super user mode" I am prompted for my root password then the same thing it take 20 minutes to actually bring it up..this problem is also happening with other programs too. I really extremely puzzled on this one. You guys have any ideas? Also, after long searches on the net on this matter I eventually found this forum http://forums.opensuse.org/applicati...se-11-0-a.html
