Nothing in your output indicates a locked file. There is no error message. Was the connection interrupted during the update?

If you insist on removing the lock file:
Code:
sudo rm -f /var/lib/dpkg/lock

We are officially beyond the extent of my knowledge of apt-*..

IIRC Natty is still a beta release, maybe package that is causing it to hang is broken/missing/etc?

Maybe if you try changing to a different mirror in /etc/apt/sources.list ? (if there is one for natty)

Perhaps it is possible to download and update the problematic package manually? maybe build from source?

Then run
Code:
 $ sudo apt-get clean
and
Code:
$ sudo apt-get check
Other than that, sorry mate, im fresh out of ideas

Here is an idea:

I have my OS set to continue the same session every time it boots. What if I were to turn this off, then restart?
Hopefully restarting will bring me a fresh new session, thereby eliminating the problem.

Theoretically....

Ideas?

I still can not update me adobe flash-fo-firefox, therefore I can not watch youtube etc.

I will need to revert to my Win7 if this does not get fixed.

I know it has been a while, but I just had this issue on Raspbian. What worked for me was resetting my configuration for my debian package system.

Code:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
