What does this mean?


What is this asking, symbol by symbol please
cp /downloads/alsa-* .

cp is the copy program
/downloads/alsa-* means all files in directory /downloads that begins with alsa- The asterisk is a wildcard that can be replaced by 0 or more characters.
The last dot is the target of 'cp'. It means copy it here (to the current directory)
