what does this error mean


what does this error mean?
\NST\nst_lilo.mbr satus:0xc000000

my buddie recieved this error when he selected linux on his machine

btw, he's got a dual boot: linux/windows

What steps did he take, or how did he install, or what did he change to make it show that?
My ESP ain't working well enough today to know w/o asking what NST stands for BTW.
