what do I put when asked > localhost login:

I just installed Fedora Core 5 using "linux text" [Enter] and booted for the first time. The first line presented is" "localhost login". I put the root user name and password I had entered at earlier in the FC5 installation but it said the password was incorrect. How do I enter the system for the first time?
[I realize this is probably one of the ultimate "newbie" questions so please control you laughter :>)

Localhost login: root
password: <type your password>

When you type your password, the password is not displayed and you will see nothing as you type. This is meant to be a security feature. So, make sure you type the right password. Check CAPS lock. Password is case sensitive. After you type the password hit ENTER and you shall be at the shell prompt. BTW, you sure you typed the right password and that you remember the password you assigned during installtion ?
