Thanks for your replies. Yes i was able to run the installation when I switched to root, but I received an error that it's not compatible with the system or kernel.
So I uninstalled SuSE, but something went wrong with the boot getting a blank screen and restarts all the time so I started fresh with XP, but this does not mean I'm giving up on Linux
. So I'm thinking of getting Mandrake 9.2 as this is compatible with the drivers I want to install.
I would like to dual boot with XP (because I got family members who are more familiar to XP), I've done this before but I didn't think I did this right. What is the proper procedure for dual boot? I've only got one hardisk, single drive, NTFS with XP.
I read you have to partition for mandrake, if so, when I install mandrake 9.2 can I tell it which drives it can use to install the OS and swap drive?
A nice step by step procedure will be nice to dual boot if that's okay with you who's replying
