What distros uses the Mir display manager
hi
i'm curious to try mir display server but don't have a clue which distro(s) uses it by default. Anyone knows?????????? |
At this point none does. But in the future I think Ubuntu will because they are the one developing it. It will be a Ubuntu thing including their Ubuntu touch version.
Not Xubuntu, nor Lubuntu, nor Kubuntu, Just Ubuntu. |
Wow, I thought it was already out because I always hear talk about it. I guess I have to wait then.

Mir may, or may not ship with Ubuntu 14.04:
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...tem&px=MTQ4OTA Ubuntu 14.04 will be a long term support (LTS) release, so it remains to be seen if the Ubuntu developers will make the change to Mir with a LTS release of Ubuntu: Quote:

Mir is aimed to be the default in Ubuntu 14.10, 14.04 will have Xorg by default. AFAIK, no other distro announced going for Mir.
