Question What distro should i use in setting-up a media-server?

i am setting-up a media server and i believe linux-based media-server would be great!

any suggestions what distro suits this?

im going to setup mediaserver.. MOVIES and ANIMES that can be accessed in my other workstation... and accessing the list of movies/animes via MOzillaFirefox.. iv'e seen setup's like this.. so i think its possible.. about 1-4 workstations streaming videos in the said mediaserver... without downloading it..

my brother tried this once but the workstation download it first before he can play it.. and im thinkin that the movie/anime to be stream not to be downloaded? is it in the mediatype? like .wma?

hope someone have tried this...

thanks!
