what distro
I know its been asked a thousand times, but I'll be a little more specific.
I need a distro that i can 1. Download all necessary files on this comp., move it to my linux laptop (via usb), and be able to boot/install it totally from harddrive(via grub). (DONT say do internet install) 2. has ability to compile (lfs..) 3. smaller the better (as i ONLY need it to compile some things) I have found Puppy 4.2.1 quite useful, except in the compiling department..and searching on google hasnt helped. |
Hi vendtagain,
Did u tried 'Damn Small linux' as it can be used with USB as well, and hopefully will suit most of your requirements. But it can only be used over 32-bit machines. So, I don't know whether it will be fruitful for you or not. Otherwise , you can try Xubuntu , Zenwalk as well. Cheers, Kapil |
