What did I do wrong?
I installed Icepack Linux 2.0 on a blank drive. The installation seemed to go without any problems but when I boot the machine I select Icepack from the boot manager (only option right now) and then I just get a blinking cursor. Nothing else comes up.
All help is greatly appriciated. <--- :newbie: |
Which boot manager (Lilo, Grub)? Knowing that will help to define a fix for your predicament!!
|
I used the default boot manager for Icepack. Found on this page. http://www.icepack-linux.com/managers.html
I just did a standard install. It seemed prety simple and straight forward. |
well, youre' really gonna struggle with out giving more info, especially with a bootloader than next to no linux user will actually have used...
|
Is there a way to replace the bootloader? I have no problem with doing a reinstall since this is the exact reason I built a seperate machine for testing purposes. I did it this way because I know next to nothing about Linux and it is better to screw up a machine with no information on it than to screw up your main machines.

No help from anyone?

what happens if you try to boot from the boot floppy you made??
|
Nothing yet because the drive ate the floppy. I will be trying again when I get home after work with the new drive.
