What command to find out the active network kernel module?

I have what I hope is a simple question.

I got one linux distro that recognizes my ethernet card and one that doesn't. I'm troubleshooting, and, for the good distro, I want to see what module was loaded.

The distro that works, by the way, is Morphix, a debian live-cd program.

The distro that doesn't work (or didn't work last time) was debian woody (3.0 r1).

What command or log file do I look in to see what module is in the kernel.

BTW: Is the rtl8139 ethernet driver not in the woody CD install? I can't find it, so I might have to load the module manually.

Should be in your /var/log/messages file, or if a module loaded, try 'lsmod', and take a look at the /etc/modules.conf file.
