What are the ioctls that can be used to get volume group informations in linux.

I have been searching for ioctls that can give Volume group related informations( LIke UUID, pv info, Number of LVs etc) in Linux. Can somebody tell me what are the ioctls that can be used for the afore mentioned purpose?
Examples would be very helpful.

I had another question, where LVM related information(metadata) are stored in case of linux?
