what about maintenance?
does linux clean up hard disk form unnecessary and temp files regularly itself or do i have to do it myself?
if i have to, then how to do it? |
Yes it is done automatically on a regular basis and unlike M$ you don't have to do anything.
|
Depends on the distro, and how it's set-up.
Some distros will clean /tmp at shutdown, others will clean /tmp and some lock-files in /var at startup, others won't do either :} No idea what fedora does, look through the rc.d directory tree and at /etc/inittab for more information. Cheers, Tink |
i have fedora, but considering move to debian instead.
does fedora empty ./trash regurarly as well? |
Is there anyway to look at a particular config file and tell?
