What distro is it? Are you trying to open as root? Did you try to open as normal user?

CRAP NOW LINUX ISNT STARTING RIGHT. basically when it tried to start portmon it says ""/ root partition has (0) space of 2000"" or something to that extent. How did i fill up the root in so little time?? how large should the root partition be? also when I am installing programs where should I unpack them and keep the directories???
