what's the sentence saying ? "echo -e "\e[01;31m*\e[00m"


it seems to mean to echo some,
Is "\e[01.." Transfer characters?

I assume you're in reference to this thread.

Such a command can change font of your terminal to bold.
Check out This page for more examples, and information.

Which is the link given in one of the answers to that question in the above linked thread.
