Ok everyone here is a real problem for you to try and sort out if you can. My wife and i have 2 seperate pcs, networked together via cable. My wifes pc has the bt voyager adsl modem connected to hers direct and i access the internet via internet sharing.
When i access the internet on linux i can not get on to ebay, and i can get msn messenger to work but i can get onto yahoo messenger.
When i am using windows its the other way round, can log onto yahoo messenger but it wont allow me to log on to msn messenger, even if i am not logged onto yahoo messenger, and i still can't access the ebay site.
I thought it may be due to us both using a corporate edition of xp pro, but if this was the case should i still get the problem using linux ? Or is it something to do with ip numbers?
I am newbie to linux and still trying to find my way so please be gentle with me. Thanks

The problem is certainly weird. Can you logon to sites other that ebay? and what client do u use to logon to msn and yahoo messengers? I'd recommend the latest version of gaim in linux.

Are you sure that your ISP is not blocking any protocols or websites? (They wouldn't be blocking ebay though)

Also, which distro are u using?
