Webserver trouble
Well I'm having web server trouble... When I try to access the server from my network, everything works fine. When I try to do it from the outside IP it doesn't work at all... I have no firewalls up. Webmin works fine from the outside IP. I don't get it. I'm using Slackware 9.1. Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that most ISPs block inbound port 80. You can test what is being blocked using ShieldsUP! at http://www.grc.com
Try setting apache to listen on port 8080 and then address it from outside the LAN like this: http://123.123.123.123:8080 I take it for granted that either the linux box is your gateway/router or that you are routing http requests from the WAN to the linux box. |
That seems to be the problem... port 80 was blocked. Thanks for the help.
