webserver doubt


Hai friends

I have one problem in my webserver. i have two web server one is real time webserver next testing webserver. both are same.
testing server connected locally. today i download all website files from my realtime server to my testing server locally connected. configure httpd. service httpd started successfully.
when i give my local ipaddess like 192.168.0.50 then my website homepage work. after that i click anything on that site it directly goes to my real time server that means first homepage worked local ipaddress other links on the same site will open from my public webserver . please advice me. how to open all files , images and link everything open private or locally.

The hyperlinks in the pages is probably referencing the public server. You can try this:

As superuser open /etc/hosts

Add a line:

192.168.0.50 [domain name or ip of your public site]

save and exit

See if that works.

It sounds like you have the FQDN of the public server embedded into your test site. You've got a couple of options. The easiest is to probably modify the hosts file on your client when you need to test. You could also redesign your site to use relative paths in the links or to read the server name from a config file.
