Install cheese and see if it works. It works fine on my netbook running 10.04.

Does it work...

Do you know if the webcam is properly installed?

For help, you need to post more detailed information about your Acer.

Open a terminal and type the command "lsusb" to find out how linux identifies the device and "lsmod" to list any module loaded for the webcam, then post the results.

The results of "lsusb" should list the vendor and model number of the webcam. Use this information to google for information on the correct driver module.

I'm trying to get my webcam and write "webcam" in Therminal
and get this answer:

leif@leli:~$ webcam
reading config file: /home/leif/.webcamrc
video4linux webcam v1.5 - (c) 1998-2002 Gerd Knorr
grabber config:
size 320x240 [none]
input (null), norm (null), jpeg quality 75
rotate=0, top=0, left=0, bottom=240, right=320

How can I come further?
