Web Server ??

First time poster and also a total linux newbie,

hello

I've running the download iso version Mandrake 10 and i mainly want to host my own website. I have verified that the server is running by pulling 127.0.0.1 and everything looks ok.

Im fairly familiar with unix based hosting on shared servers running cPanel. I thinik im understanding my /var/www directory but what im trying to figure out is.. is there an out of box graphical setup for my server? I was expecting to see something in the mandrake control center or something similar. but there doesnt seem to be anything. How can i setup mail, dns, domain, addon & sub domains etc etc. perhaps i need to buy some comercial software.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for your time

Keith

Im not sure can I answer this question but web server are you using? Apache?

If so I think it does not have any graphical configuration screen, it only has the text based conf. Which is imo really hard to use as newbie...

Hope this helps atleast something.

Try webmin. www.webmin.com most of the modules work very well. I use it for customers that don't have any unix skills, they like it.
