Web development


hi guys. im having problems in locating the www directory in lamp so that i can upload my webpages for testing...any help is highly appreciated

in lamp? LAMP is not a thing, just an assembly of technologies, in itself it has no config or other tangible manifestiation. Apache will usually use /var/www/html on most systems, maybe that's the location you're after?

to test a websites or application, in windows you just need to copy the folder conatiner the files in the www directory and your ready to go....how do we do it in linux...thats my problem.thanks

what are you actually stuck on? Your reply could cover the entire install, config and deployment of Apache... as above /var/www/html is the default location for a website root.

well if that's the level you're at, you really need to look at some standard documentation in the first instance. 5 seconds on google showed me this which is probably good enough for your needs https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ApacheMySQLPHP if not, have a search yourself.
