Weather Report 3.4.1 applet Ubuntu 12.04 Asus netbook
Worked fine (12.04 desktop mode as Gnome, not Unity)
until a few days ago. Places properly on top panel. But it no longer gathers info. This applet has been and is still working with another netbook with 10.04 for years and with a desktop which uses 11.11. Any ideas? Proxy problem? Recent unexpected "upgrades" in 12.04? THX |
Can you try a different source for the information?
For instance my weather app allows me to choose between NOAA/NWS, Accuweather, and a few other sources. In my case, when NOAA started reporting sporadically/shutting down, I just switched to Accuweather and have had no problems since. Mind you, I'm using KDE on Mageia so I've no idea if you have that option. Just thought I'd try to help. :) |
Thanks VoodooDali.
I wish to continue using "Weather Report" credited to S. Papadimitriou. This applet allows multiple temp indications for multiple locations and provides forcasting data if requested. The applet continues to work with an Ubuntu 11.1 and 10.04 installations on other machines. The applet indicator can still be placed on the panel with Gnome classic desktop in 12.04 but doesnt acquire any weather data. This probably related to a change in my installation. What is source for weather info for this app? Thanks |
Was 12.04 when Ubuntu started defaulting to Unity? I wonder if perhaps they're no longer supporting the applet.
I apologize; I've been looking at other forums for an answer to your question but can't seem to find anyone using Gnome in Ubuntu 12.04. Anyone else have an idea? :) (hopeful) |
