Angry Weasel problems

Whenever I use weasel I find that it either freezes, shuts down or dies right in the middle of looking up something.

Hi & welcome to LQ.
Are you talking about Weasel from vmware? A few details about your system would be useful.

The more you can tell us, the more we can help you. I have some ideas that might help you give us some of the information that can help us help you.

Take a screenshot of the offending program and post it as an attachment to your post. You have to click the "Go Advanced" button at the bottom of the "Quick Reply" window; in the "Advanced" window, you can add a picture as an attachment.

You can also open a terminal and run this command:

Code:
uname -a
Post the output of that command; it will tell us more about your Linux install.

You can also run this command; it's a catch-all command that works with most distros, but may not work with every one. If it works, it will tell you what distro/version you are running:

Code:
cat /etc/*release*
Here's what it returns on my Slackware system:

Code:
$ cat /etc/*release*
NAME=Slackware
VERSION="14.1"
ID=slackware
VERSION_ID=14.1
PRETTY_NAME="Slackware 14.1"
ANSI_COLOR="0;34"
CPE_NAME="cpe:/o:slackware:slackware_linux:14.1"
HOME_URL="http://slackware.com/"
SUPPORT_URL="http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/"
BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/"
Post that information also.

It might also help if you told us what you are trying to do when you use weasel.
