Wavecom USB Modem Drivers?
Hello.
I am a newb galore in the world of the linux. I am running Ubuntu Desktop and need to install a Wavecom WMOD2 USB. Can someone please tell me in laymans terms how to install it? I ask because I cannot find the drivers ANYWHERE?!?! My client asked me to have this done by tomorrow, and I did not think I would have this much trouble finding drivers..... WHAT DO I DO? PLEASE HELPPPPP!!!!! |
It appears that there is only a windows driver so if your ubuntu does not recognize it one of your options will be to see if linmodems or linuxant has drivers. They have a scan tool and will tell you if they have the driver. If they have one it will come in a free version (which is slow) and a modem max driver that you will have to pay for.

Larry, will i need both the free version and the max version; or is the max version just faster??
thanks for your quick reply, it is sincerely appreciated! :) |
I miss spoke, the better (max) version is all that you will need if they make one. The one they charge for does the same job but faster. A lot of people try the free version first to see if the like it or it will work properly.
