Want to access NAS using Volumio

Hi all,

I am a total newbie to Linux and have been trying a number of suggestions on the internet in order to be able to access music files that are on my NAS. But have not been successful. Anyone out there that might be willing to give me a hand with this? I am currently using a Raspberry PI, soon to update to a BBB. Using Volumio at the time.

Can you access the NAS with NFS or is it Windows-only so you need samba?

I'll be honest I am pretty illiterate with computer things. I looked in the NAS (Synology) and it looks like I could allow NFS access.
